How do you make a christmas countdown calender?

You no those countdown things like to coutdown to christmas. How do i make it? What should the picture be when you open it? What do you do when you open it? What happens? Help?|||Here ya go!

I think it is cool to give little gifts for every day of the 'countdown'

Step1Fold a dark green bath towel in half, making it about 27 inches wide and 25 inches tall.

Step2Glue the edges of the towel together using a hot glue gun, stopping about 1.5 inches below the fold, which will be the top. This will form a pocket for the dowel.

Step3Glue decorative braid around the edges of the front of the towel to form a frame. To get a square shape, place the top braid about 2 inches from the fold; the side and bottom braid should go to the edge of the towel.

Step4Draw the shape of a small Christmas stocking onto a brown paper grocery bag and cut out the pattern. The stocking should be 3 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall.

Step5Turn the pattern upside down on the felt and trace 25 stockings, using a thin black felt-tip pen.

Step6Cut the felt stockings and use the fabric paint to number them from 1 to 25. Allow the paint to dry.

Step7Arrange the stockings, in sequence, on the front side of the towel in five rows of five, staggering the rows from left to right if desired. Use straight pins to keep the stockings in place.

Step8One at a time, apply glue on the back side of the felt along the outer edges of the stocking ' but not along the top edge ' and glue in place onto the towel.

Step9Decorate the stockings with sequins, 3-D fabric glue, or pieces of white fur material to give each stocking a unique look. Be careful not to cover up the number!

Step10Insert the dowel through the tunnel at the top of the towel.

Step11Tie the cord to each end of the dowel to create a decorative loop for hanging.

Step12Put one miniature candy cane into each Christmas stocking pocket.

Step13Hang your new Advent Calendar on the wall for everyone to admire!

Have fun!!

|||When my daughter was small, I made an advent calendar from cloth that we reused each year. Each day had a small pouch for small gifts starting with December 1st. She is a grown woman now, but she stills remembers the calendar and says it was her favorite christmas tradition. You can buy the calendars at card shops or make your own. I put small inexpensive gifts and/or coupons for each day. A small piece of candy or a sucker with a coupon or a c|||It is called an advent calendar.Starting with December 1 make a door for each day and put something that means a lot to you or your kids. Then open a door for each day that passes|||How about look up different advent calenders and get ideas from that? Those are always helpful, but the chocolate inside always tastes like puke. ~.~
